This week here in Davao is one of the most promising week of the Dabawenyos. For Kadayawan Festival is the celebration of Davao’s bountiful harvest, thanksgiving for all the gifts of nature, culture, and the serenity of living. This name was drawn from the greeting “madayaw” of the Dabawenyo term “ dayaw” that means good, superior or beautiful.emoticon

This years Kadayawan theme is “Musanay Lumadnong Kagikan, Yutang Kabilin Panalipdan!“emoticon

 

The traditional Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan ”street dancing” was held yesterday from morning, afternoon all the way to the night. There were more teams and more sectors participated in this fierce competition.emoticon

Just this morning we celebrated the PAMULAK KADAYAWAN: Floral Float Parade and Competition. At eight o’clock in the morning the floral parade began from Rizal Park to San Pedro Street. There were lots of picturesque floats. Though the most awaited scene by the people are the famous stars of the countries including the kapamilya stars Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban and Kapuso Iza Calsado and Rochelle from Sex Bomb Dancers.emoticon
